Details about the service
For foreigners who are planning to enter, work, reunite with family or long-term residence in Kazakhstan. First, we determine the appropriate status, then the composition of the documents and the procedure for submission.
01Which option is suitable
- Visa is the basis for entry and stay when the visa-free regime does not apply. The category must correspond to the purpose: work, study, family, business and other reasons. A tourist visa in itself does not give the right to work.
- A TRP is permission for temporary residence on a specific ground. For visa-exempt foreign nationals, grounds include employment, family, study and other cases provided by the rules. The right to work is checked separately.
- Permanent residence and residence permit are not one operation: first, a permanent residence permit is considered, then a document certifying the status is issued. A temporary residence permit does not automatically turn into a residence permit.
02What we check and prepare
- Citizenship, purpose of entry, dates of border crossing, current documents and receiving party; separately - the length of legal stay and previous violations.
- Suitable basis, the need for an invitation, translations, legalization or apostille, personal presence and fingerprint registration - if required by the procedure.
- A tailored document checklist, preparation and review of the package, assistance with filing and responding to requests — as part of end-to-end case support until the selected procedure is complete.
03What to prepare for your first enquiry
- Passport, citizenship, planned or actual entry date, current visa/TRP and residential address.
- Documents on the basis: employment contract, documents on kinship, enrollment in studies or host organization - depending on the purpose.
- For permanent residence, confirmation of solvency, information on no criminal record, medical documents and housing are usually additionally checked. There are exceptions; the final list is determined by your category.
04Time frames and costs
- The receiving party reports the arrival of a foreigner to the internal affairs authorities within three working days. The notification does not replace a visa or temporary residence permit.
- Under the rules, the state service takes one working day for a TRP after the required documents are submitted, and 45 calendar days for permanent residence permission. These periods exclude all preparation and production of the residence permit card.
- Visa periods depend on the category and method of application. The cost of legal assistance, state fees, consular fees, translations, notary and medical documents are considered separately according to applicability.
05What is important not to miss
- Visa-free entry does not mean unlimited residence: the period depends on citizenship, international agreement and the basis of stay. Do not count on automatic reset of the deadline upon departure and entry.
- Refusal, an overstay, or a change of employer, address or grounds requires a separate assessment. Do not wait for your current documents to expire before starting preparations.
- The primary list helps to navigate; the final decision is made by the competent authority. Conditions for further support are agreed upon individually.
The page contains general information, not a conclusion on your case. The requirements depend on the circumstances and the version of the legal acts in effect on the date of application. Before starting work, we will agree on the scope of assistance, cost, timing and external expenses.
